Rose Dawn aka Hazel Keech was born in Essex, north-east London, England in 28 February 1987 to an English father and an Indian Hindu mother from Mauritius.From childhood she was introduced to different dances by her mother. At ten, she was already learning Bharat Natyam.

Hazel got her first acting break as an extra in the second, third and fourth Harry Potter films. Hazel has performed on Brit TV shows like ‘Call The Shots’ and ‘Miss Maple’. She made her entry into the Indian cinema at the age of 18.Hazel grabbed a lot of eyeballs with her dance in the Frankfinn Music remix item number, "Kahin Pe Nigahaen". Hazel is a great fan of Madhuri Dixit. Like Madhuri,

"My mom is a Hindu and my nani (maternal grandmother) who stays with us there, is very traditional and wears sari every day, does pujas. So, eventually the culture at home was totally Indian. When I came to India, it's just a different country but the culture was same that I grew up in," Hazel Keech said.

"I am born as Hazel. Rose is not my name. When I came five years ago, the modelling agency I started with decided to change my name. They changed my name to Rose. I left that agency after a year. I never changed my name or spelling after that," said Hazel.
